Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2, 2026
Failsafe Foundation exists for people going through some of the hardest moments of their working lives. We treat your privacy as a matter of dignity, not compliance. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible, keep it only as long as we need to, and never sell it.
Who we are
Failsafe Foundation (“Failsafe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit organization recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through our website and through direct communication with us, such as email.
For any privacy question, or to exercise any right described below, contact us at hello@failsafe.org.
Information we collect
We limit collection to what is necessary. Specifically:
- Information you give us. When you email us or reach out for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to share in your message. You are never required to share details you are not comfortable sharing.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information as a condition of receiving support.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not use your story for advertising, marketing spectacle, or fundraising without your explicit, specific consent.
- We do not track you across other websites or build advertising profiles about you.
How we use information
We use the information we collect only to:
- respond to you and provide the support you ask for;
- operate, secure, and maintain our website;
- understand, in aggregate and anonymized form, how we can serve people better; and
- meet legal, tax, and accountability obligations.
Cookies and analytics
We keep tracking to a minimum. We use only the cookies necessary for the site to function and, where used, privacy-respecting analytics that help us understand overall traffic without identifying you individually. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work.
How we share information
We share personal information only in limited circumstances: with trusted service providers who help us operate (such as our website host and email provider), bound by confidentiality and permitted to use it only on our instructions; when required by law or valid legal process; or to protect the safety of a person where we believe there is a risk of serious harm. If Failsafe ever undergoes an organizational change, any successor will be bound by commitments no weaker than these.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take confidentiality seriously and design our practices to reduce risk.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. If you ask us to delete your correspondence, we will honor that request except where we are legally required to retain records.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of it. We extend these choices to everyone who contacts us, regardless of location.
To make any request, email hello@failsafe.org. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Children
Failsafe is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to make the change clear. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
